Trojan (W. Shipton Ltd.) - rare plastic 70mm Mounted Cowboy, cat. No. 1129 - hollow unpainted black polythene horse is marked with the letter 'T' - the cowboy is a good quality hand-painted British model copy of a Tim-Mee mould and dates to circa 1957 (smaller British companies such as Kentoys, Speedwell, UNA and VP are known to have copied widely and Trojan copied the Marx Roy Rogers set and some Marx foot Indian models), whilst the horse itself may well be Tim-Mee - both figure and horse are a/f, the mounted cowboy rider is missing his right hand, whilst the right rear foot of the horse is missing - [we would like to thank Paul Morehead of Plastic Warrior for his help in identifying this figure, although the horse cannot be attributed to Trojan - Provenance: from the Norfolk Plastic Toy Soldier collection].
