Herald Series of Wild West Unbreakable Models, exceptionally rare box set of 1st type full paint version Mounted and Dismounted Cowboys and Indians, catalogue no. H7604, comprising 2 mounted and 4 dismounted cowboys and 2 mounted and 4 dismounted Indians, contained (strung) into an early brown lift-off lid box with illustrated label (by Ron Freeman, the source of which was the front cover of the 1955 Buffalo Bill Annual, illustrated by Denis McLoughlin), with original card insert. Overall, figures are Excellent to near Mint (a little dusty from storage), card insert is Very Good (one split to lower right corner), Lift-off lid type box is Poor (scuffing, age wear, tears, part of lid missing, extensive repairs), with good colour illustrated Wild West label. Only produced between January 1957 and 1959 – [Extremely RARE set – no known previous example sold by Vectis Auctions so far as we are aware].
