Herald Zang Very Early Life Guards (Repro Card Insert)

Very early, circa 1953/54, Herald/Zang Life Guards – 3 mounted and 3 dismounted figures (marked with Herald trumpeter logo and ‘Made in England’) – the horses are the early two-part cellulose acetate moulds and are in super condition and the inside of the rear legs are stamped ‘Made in’ and ‘England’. Of the three riders, only the Trumpter has his metal scabbard. The condition of the figures is VG overall, with only minor paint loss, and strung into a plain REPRODUCTION card insert. The catalogue number of this early set is 6.L.G. which was only used for 1953 and ’54 – [Provenance: figures from the late ‘Ray Ellwood’ collection]
