SOLD Britains 45F Milk Float & (PLASTIC) Horse

Britains Model Home Farm Series – RARE intermediate 45F Milk Float & (PLASTIC) Horse, in Original end-opening Green Card Box with Blue Printing, with original packing tissue and complaints slip – Model is near mint (though note one front leg has been repaired) and brown plastic horse for 1960 issue; box is Good (some age wear, creases) – this particular combination of box and plastic horse dates to 1960 and is not mentioned in the Britains section of the excellent ‘Farming Vehicles in Miniature’ – the provenance of this set is most interesting: “An older man (older than me!) advertised in the local paper trains and toys for sale – a friend of mine went and had a look and reported back that he had bought some of it so I went and had a look in St Andews in Fife to see what was left and it was a case of all or nothing which include the Britains items – I got Hornby Dublo items which I wanted so selling the balance – it turned out him as his brother had a toy shop in St Andrews which closed in the 70’s and all the items he had left just went in his loft for 30 plus years – so the items are ex shop stock – I have since discovered that the Britains items seem to post war as the horse are plastic – hope this helps”.
