SOLD Herald Cow & Calves Display – Blue Windmill Carton

Rare Herald Farm Display Carton H5535, containing Cow standing and 2 Calves (brown Ayrshire breed markings) – Note: inclusion of Britains ‘lead mould’ standing cow, the Herald version having been deleted at the end of 1958. Models are very near Mint. Outer carton marked “A Britains Ltd. Product” and “Made in England” – Blue ‘Windmill’ Carton and inner plinth are Excellent, bright colours (plinth background faded), very slight creasing. Price 29/- in pencil to underside [Belgian Francs] – from a collection of old shop stock recently discovered in Belgium, obtained from the original owner’s grandson; the shop was open between 1956 and 1986. This rare piece dates to circa 1959-1961. Herald at their finest!
