H R Products (Harry Reynolds), Fulham, London, England, rare Garage Hand, carrying petrol can, moulded in cream plastic and marked ‘SHELL’ to petrol can (in typewriter typeface, typical of Timpo, which is not surprising since Timpo’s chief designer, Norman Tooth, is known to have been employed to carry out design work for Reynolds, including Michael Bentine’s ‘Bumblies’ in metal) – model also has hand-painted black cap, dark grey trousers and base, brown boots, red petrol can and tie, flesh face and hands – originally from the Kew lead mould, this plastic figure dates to the mid-to-late 1950’s and is the first garage model in plastic by H R Products we have seen (cowboys, policemen, frogman, farm animals and vikings from Reynolds lead moulds are known to exist in plastic).
